ROLE

UI Design, UX Design, Project Manager, Video Editor

The goal of this project was to make culture more accessible and enjoyable for everyone and was carried out by an interdisciplinary team of five students.

In order to see the main points of improvement, my team and I conducted a survey with 47 participants. In this survey, we found that 42% see socializing as one of the main reasons to attend cultural events and 30% feel hindered from going because they have no one to attend the event with. To solve this problem, we created the concept and business plan for “BuddyUp” which enables group finding for cultural events. A test run of this concept showed that 100% would recommend BuddyUp to their friends and use it again.

My main tasks in this project were designing the user-flow and prototype of the website by applying the user-centered design approach with several iterations, as well as managing the communication with the Münchner Kammerspiele. Furthermore, I ventured out of my comfort zone by creating a trailer that shows the finished prototype and conveys the idea behind BuddyUp.

Our advisors from the Münchner Kammerspiele were so convinced of the success and relevancy of our final concept that they offered us the opportunity to pursue this project further with them to transform it from a proof of concept to a real application.
